On behalf of the
former mayor and under difficult circumstances imposed by the
federal government, Jeannette McCarthy negotiated for the construction
of six (6) recreation fields, at no cost to the city, at the
army corps site. A win-win for our children and the city. |

In january 2003,
the city council was asked to spend 2.6 Million dollars for
three (3) artificial fields at the army corps. Jeannette could
not vote yes because it would mean waiving the original win-win
agreement for constructing 6 fields at no cost to the taxpayers. |

pit. (Harding field) |

This funding request
did not comply with the city's charter which is the constitution
of the city. As an elected official and lawyer, Jeannette McCarthy
must comply with the law. |

will continue to work to get fields built for the youth of waltham
without violating the law or throwing out a win-win agreement
for our children and for the city. |
